Ca' Salina Rosato Incrocio Manzoni Spumante Brut

Revised this year by Ca’Salina from their previously sweeter Manzoni Spumante. Based on Luigi Manzoni's hybrid, crossing Raboso Piave and Moscato d’Amburgo in the 1920’s, this brut rosè is a full Spumante, with a pale rose petal colour, hints of citrus and wild strawberries and can be drunk as an aperitif, with light fish dishes and salads.

VARIETY:  Incrocio Manzoni 13.0.25. A rare variety created by Luigi Manzoni in the 1920s by crossing Raboso Piave and Moscato d’Amburgo.

WINEMAKING METHOD:  Very short maceration of the grapes under soft pressure so as to maintain the colour of the skins

SPUMANTIZZAZIONE:  Second fermentation (or spumantizzazione) in the autoclave under controlled temperature (known as the “Charmat” method or “Italian method”)


SUGAR RESIDUE:  8-10 grams/litre

PRESSURE:  4.5 - 5 Bar

COLOUR:  Rose petal

BOUQUET:  Fragrant and aromatic with hints of wild strawberries and citrus fruit

FLAVOUR:  Assertive and aromatic, slightly acidulous


TASTING NOTES:  Excellent as an aperitif, this wine really should be tasted with fish dishes

A stunning example of the marriage of two local grape varieties – Glera and Raboso Piave – and the skill of the winemakers resulting in a frothy, sweet celebratory wine. This is the pink cousin of the classic DOCG Prosecco Superiore.

VARIETY:  A blend of Glera and Raboso Piave. Raboso is the red cousin to the Glera grape. Grown uniquely in the Treviso area and benefitting from the same terroir as Glera.

SPUMANTIZZAZIONE: Charmat method, Spumante.


SUGAR RESIDUE: 22-27 grams/litre

COLOUR: Pink with a consistent, fine perlage.

BOUQUET:  Strawberry and other ripe berries with floral hints.

TASTING NOTES:  Ideal as a party or event wine and for those who prefer a sweeter aperitif. Can be taken with creamy desserts and ice creams, semifreddo and meringues.
